Why The Clap Scale Is Encouraging
Honestly, I have been on Medium for a while, and I am starting to be more regular with my writing platforms otherwise as well. But there is something here that I find particularly rewarding here. Sure, I can be monetized in other ways, but in the end I always come back into Medium. The clap function changed in recent months, and I am ever thankful they did.
Why Claps Are Enthusing For Writers
We as writers all love seeing different things, but claps are a regular thing we enjoy. With the amount varying person to person, it can be rather encouraging. When people clap the max of 50, I feel like I’m really doing something right. I know I can’t please everyone, but this is a major boost in my opinion. The number of followers always helps boost my mood too, but I am always grateful to see them here.
The Community Is Interactive
No matter where we go in this platform, everyone is interactive. We all thrive from that too. When one person comments, it makes me eager to see what they have to say. If you really want to motivate your favourite writer, comment and clap. The more I see these two things, the more I am convinced I have done a good job.
The idea that the community is engaging in my content like this is always encouraging. For a beginner, it means even more. So scale your interactions according to how you enjoy the content before you.
Overall
We writers thrive on seeing our stories getting interaction. The more that we are seeing the audience interact, the more motivated a writer can become. We are all fans of positive reinforcement, and the new clap scale is one very strong way of presenting your support.
